Hi, I'm Daniel - and I've Been Where You Are.
I have three large dogs of my own - a Malamute/Akita mix, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and a Great Pyrenees. There was a time when they were fighting, escaping, and destroying everything in sight. Figuring out how to change that lead me down a deep dive into dog psychology - and eventually, to starting Alchemy Dog Training.
I started this business because I lived the frustration firsthand. And I know what it feels like when things finally click.

Meet The Trainer
I'd never owned a dog before, though there was more dog experience in the house than mine. Even so, neither of us really knew what we were doing when we brought home our first ones - a Malamute/Akita mix, a Bernese mountain Dog, and a Great Pyrenees. Large and extra-large breeds, all at once, with barely any experience between us.
it didn't go smoothly. the dogs started fighting in the home. on top of that, we were dealing with basic potty training issues, destruction throughout the house, escape attempts, and just chaos in general. What was supposed to be a calm household turned into constant stress. we tried everything we knew, and none of it worked
Then we found a podcast on dog psychology, and it changed everything. Not just for the dogs - for me. I started understanding my own energy, my own body language, and how much of that dogs were actually responding to. Training stopped being about commands and started being about relationship. About building an actual pack - dogs and humans, mutual and cohesive, not humans just issuing orders.
Once applied that shift, everything changed. The chaos in that home turned into calm.
Not long after that, I went through my own hard season - a real reckoning with my mental health and that meant stepping back, getting help, and rebuilding myself from the ground up. Going through that taught me something I didn't expect: the same principles that calmed my dogs - presence, self-awareness, steady energy - were the same things I needed to heal my self. Dogs don't just reflect the chaos in the home. They reflect the chaos in us. Getting my own mind right didn't just save me - it made me a better trainer.

Puppy Training - $135 Per session
For the puppy parent who wants to get it right from the start.
The first few months of your puppy's life are the most critical window for shaping who they become. What they learn - and what they don't - during this period will influence their behavior for years. Puppy Training sessions are designed to give your pup the strongest possible foundation while teaching you how to nurture it every single day.
Behavior Modification - $165 Per session
For the dog whose behavior feels out of control - or even unsafe.
Reactivity. Aggression. Anxiety. Destructive behavior. Excessive barking. If you're living with any of these, you know how exhausting and isolating it can feel. Behavior modification is Alchemy's most in-depth service, designed for dogs whose challenges go beyond basic obedience.

All of our In-Home Training tiers cover the same core training - dog psychology, behavior modification, leash work, socialization, and real-world application. the difference between tiers isn't what you learn, it's the pace at which we work through it.
4 - Week Program starting at $850
A faster- paced option covering the full training foundation in a condensed timeframe. great for owners who are ready to commit intensively and want results on a quicker timeframe.
6 - Week Program starting at $1,175
A more balanced pace, giving extra time to work through specific behavior challenges in depth without rushing between concepts.
8 - Week program starting at $1,500
Our most through pace, giving your dog (and you) the most time to absorb, practice, and reinforce each stage before moving to the next. best for dogs with more complex behavior needs or owners who prefer a slower, deeper process.

All ages and breeds - no restrictions.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes - an initial phone consultation is free, with the length varying based on what we need to cover for your dog. In-person consultations are available for a fee.
What vaccinations does my dog need?
Rabies and core vaccines are required for all programs.
What if my dog doesn't improve?
Results depend heavily on how well the owner listens, applies what's taught, and follows through between sessions. Clients who stay committed to the process see success across the board.
Can I extend my program if I need more time?
Yes - all programs can be extended in 2- week increments. In-Home extensions are $400 per week.
What's your cancellation/rescheduling policy?
We ask for cat least 48 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling. That said, we understand emergencies happen - just keep us updated and we'll work with you.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. A deposit is required to book, with the remaining balance due on the first day of training for all programs.

Your Energy Is Training Your Dog Whether You Know it Or Not
If you've ever walked into a room feeling stressed and had your dog immediately starts pacing, whining, or acting anxious - that wasn't a coincidence. Dogs are constantly reading us, whether we realize it or not. Long before they understand a single word we say, theyre reacting to something much older and more instinctive: our energy.
What "Energy" Actually Means
This isn't about anything mystical. Your energy is the sum of your body language, your breathing, your tension, your tone of voice, even the pace of your movements. Dogs are incredibly attuned to these signals because, for most of their evolutionary history, reading energy accurately meant the difference between safety and danger. That instinct didn't disappear just because they now sleep on our couches.
When you're anxious, tense, or frustrated, your dog picks up on it - and often reflects it right back to you. A nervous handler can create a nervous dog. A frustrated handler can create a reactive one. It's not that your dog is misbehaving on purpose. It's that they're responding to what you're putting out, often before you've even said a word.
Why This Matters More Than Obedience Commands
A lot of traditional training focuses almost entirely on commands: sit, stay, heel. And commands matter. But commands built on top of a chaotic, tense, or unpredictable energy will always be less effective than commands built. on a calm, grounded presence.
Think of it this way: you can teach a dog to sit a hundred times, but if your energy is scattered and anxious every time you ask, you're teaching them that "sit" comes wrapped in unpredictability. Dogs don't just learn words. They learn patterns - and your energy is one of the biggest patterns they're learning from.
The Real Shift: Leading From A Calmer State
This was the single biggest thing that changed everything for me and my own dogs. Once I started paying attention to my own state - my breathing, my posture, how i walked into a room - I realized how much of the chaos in my own home wasn't actually about the dogs at all. It was about what I was bringing into the space with them.
When I got calmer, more grounded, and more consistent in how I carried myself, my dogs responded almost immediately. Not because I'd mastered some secret command, but because I'd stopped giving them chaotic energy to react to.
A Few Ways To Start Applying This Today

Notice your breathing before interacting with your dog. Shallow, fast breathing signals tension. Slow it down before you ask anything.

Move with intention, not urgency. Rushing at your dog, even with good intentions, reads as pressure.
